Twenty-eight years ago, I tucked a box of fruit and veggies under my arm and knocked on doors in Melbourne’s east, looking for home delivery customers.
The year was 1993, and so was the beginning of my new endeavour.
Fast forward to 2021, and much has changed in the world, but not my early mornings!
Micky Booth is a small family business committed to delivering the best and freshest fruit and veggies sourced from Melbourne’s Wholesale market.
We specialise in purchasing from small local growers, who are too small to supply the large supermarket chains.
Changing times.
Over the last twenty eight years, the ways in which businesses communicate with their customers has changed.
When I first started back in 1993 customers would call a pager number, leave a message, and I would call them back.
Most people then didn’t even have a cordless (landline) phone, so they would be racing back and forth between their phone and their fridge letting me know what they wanted to order.
When cordless phones became the norm, the ordering became quicker, because they could take their phone to the fridge!
Once mobile phones became popular, customer were even easier to reach.
Now everyone has a smart phone, and most customers order from our online store.
